About
Welcome to Gulluoglu Baklava & Cafe, a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Known for its extensive range of authentic Middle Eastern desserts, particularly its exquisite baklava, this café elevates the dessert experience to new heights. Let’s explore what this charming spot has to offer.
During my visit, I experienced the warmth of their service and the richness of their coffee. The baklava was decadent and perfectly sweetened, complementing the bitterness of a robust espresso. The ambiance was inviting, allowing for both intimate gatherings and casual hangouts.
If you're in the vicinity or seeking a delightful Middle Eastern dessert adventure, I highly recommend stopping by Gulluoglu Baklava & Cafe. It’s a place where flavors dance, and sweet dreams are realized. Don’t forget to try their knafeh if you have time to spare; its unique texture is an intriguing addition to their dessert repertoire.

“ Not a bad spot has plenty of space nice cashier and servers . Next time I'll try the kunefe. But the coffee wasn't bad . ”
“ I surely do recommend this place! Amazing food and dessert Went there few days ago and tried Pistachio Merengue, that's absolutely delicious. Terrific place and great customer service. 100% must visit this place. I will be coming back for sure!!! ”
“ It's good portion and hot chocolate was okay. I can't eat, like 7 pieces, now I know :-). I gave $5 tips (I just believe, that you gotta earn tips). My stomach was feeling alright, -- I didn't get poisoned. I have waited for an hour, it was my asap order for yesterday, now I know. :)) ”
“ They make excellent coffee and original Turkish deserts, that is, baklava and kunefe. The service is exceptional, servers courteous and polite. The ambience like most NY small spaced spots but very clean. ”
“ Stopped by here for some baklava and coffee when I happened to be in the area this past summer. This is a Turkish chain with a few locations in the NYC metro area, though this was my first time visiting one. They have quite the variety of baklava on display, and other Turkish and Middle Eastern/Mediterranean sweets as well. I chose a few different types of baklava to go, as well as a Turkish coffee, and an order of their knafeh. The knafeh took a little bit of time to make, so you may wish to call in ahead if you're trying to order that. The Turkish coffee was good - strong and bitter. The baklava pieces I had picked out were all so tasty and they kept well in my fridge for the next few days. The knafeh was interesting, and I'm not sure I would get it again since I wasn't as crazy about the taste, but I appreciated having to finally try out the dish for myself. The young woman helping me out was friendly and very helpful as well, and overall, I found it to be a solid place to come by for some good baklava and coffee. ”
“ Came here again after 2 years. I am reviewing the desserts, not the ambiance. I personally like my baklava more soaked, and not too sweet, and this place had what I like. It so has other lesser known varieties of desert, rice pudding two types for example. Will I travel here just for baklava? No. But definitely will stop by and grab some to eat and for take away. Dough/nuts/sugar ratio is excellent, and service is friendly (you are in Brighton Beach afterall). Someone asked why Turkish places in Brighton Beach. Yes, Turkey bring regular destination now for post-Soviet tourism, but also jobs and even property ownership. For Central Asians, Turkish food and desserts is a standard fare now back home. ”
